SHICKSHINNY — One woman was killed after a motor vehicle crash on South Main Street (Route 11) in Shickshinny Thursday afternoon. State Police identified the victim as Sarah Timms, 64, of Shickshinny.
According to troopers:
Timms was driving a Chevy Blazer that was struck on the driver’s side by a Cadillac Escalade that went through a stop sign at Route 11 and East Butler Street shortly before 2 p.m.
The Escalade was driven by Kristy Cimilluca, 36, of Hunlock Creek. There were two girls, ages 12 and 15, in the Escalade. Troopers said “other injuries” were reported, but did not elaborate.
The Escalade spun around and came to a stop on the sidewalk on East Butler Street. The Blazer traveled up onto the sidewalk and struck a utility pole on East Butler Street.
The crash remained under investigation later Thursday and no charges had been filed. The report by state police noted that South Main Street in the area of the crash is a 25 mph zone and is level.
“We would like to send our deepest condolences to the family that lost a loved one today in this tragic accident. You are in our prayers,” Shickshinny Borough Police wrote in a post on their Facebook page Thursday night.
