WILKES-BARRE — Big changes are coming at Le Manhattan Bistro, with one of them being its name.

A post on the website of the French restaurant, which is located at the corner of South Main Street and West Ross Street in Wilkes-Barre, indicates that the restaurant would be changing its name and theme, and will be headed up by a new executive chef.

The post, dated on July 7, indicates that area native Chad Gelso will be taking over as executive chef of the restaurant, after having worked in fine dining restaurants in areas like London, Chicago, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C.

Gelso most recently worked as the head chef at Suraya in Philadelphia.

The restaurant says its new name would be announced this coming week, adding that its new concept is “root + vine.”

The exact details of how the concept will affect the menu remain to be seen.
